LET'S GET BLOGGING - Awakening the Keyboard Warrior

Let’s face it, quite a few bloggers are born out of a negative experience. This annoyance and disappointment can turn into passion and a bit of an awakening as people search for their vision of honesty and truth. It can even be more of a self reflection as one writes to better understand oneself and situations. As much as there are clear pitfalls in using anger and frustration to get yourself to write, this strength can be harnessed and transform into a powerful driver early on. Just don't let it consume you, rather let it shift to a more balanced view as time goes on.

There were two inhibitors to fire up my blogging passion. First one was my growing interest in wine culture and gastronomy (read more here) as a the positive inspiring agitator. It presented a canvas to help me experiment on fusing my love for the wine tasting experience with my fascination with physical environments. My second agitator was a negative experience at a beauty salon where my disappointment in them kept on repeating during my monthly visits. Naturally, I felt the need to voice my opinion and warn any new customers to think twice. On a side note, my review was so painful for the company that a few years later they asked that I take it down, promising that old practices are gone with the management change. Job well done!

The Stagnant Pros

I’ve heard professional bloggers and writers think too many people out there are not qualified. I would naturally disagree here, would not it be worth for someone with a purpose and passion to share their ideas as long as others want to listen? I find that in the design & visual industry, it is often enthusiasts without a formal design education that come in with a fresh perspective and inspire the field. They break rules in beautiful, unexpected ways and often times advance the field. Self thought, with passion and dedication behind their efforts, they bring value. Hence, who said a blogger must be an English Writing major or with a Journalism degree to be qualified?

Evaluating & Improving with Teamwork

Our experience blog started off as strictly my site, however as the creative thinker in me evolved, this passion to discover experiences and submerge in new worlds grew. I started understanding how events can be analyzed and improved, plus, more importantly, this grew on my husband (husband-to-be at that point). Although not a creative professional, he understood the need to advocate for well-designed experiences from a human perspective. The blog eventually became a joint husband-wife venture as we discuss and deepen our understanding of moments and memories (click here to visit). For over 5 years now, we write and collaborate together, as we hope to educate people about experiences and help interesting, unique services improve. Our goal is to have a productive dialogue with the business, to aim for a better experience on all fronts. Reach out to us if you want to start on that journey!

In our world of constant change and open lines for communication, it is imperative for everyone with something to say to be heard. This is our opportunity to push industries and services - change them with our voices and opinions, mould them into our definitions of better. After all, those enterprises exist for purpose of serving us – the consumers. It is at our fingertips to lead the way. YES, YOU CAN!
