Typographic Poster Art

Expressive Typography as Visual Narrative

2016 to now

For me, typography is more than a tool for communication—it is a visceral art form. This poster series, exclusively selected for international exhibition by the global Show Us Your Type platform, serves as an ongoing exploration of how letterforms can capture the spirit, rhythm, and texture of a city. I treat each canvas as a playground for technique, blending the precision of graphic design with expressive, hand-drawn linework and bold experimentation.

Through this series, I invite viewers to look past the literal meaning of words and instead experience the energy and "layered stories" found within the shapes of the letters themselves.

Capturing the gritty, high-fashion, and fast-paced energy of NYC.
An expressive, painterly approach using "mascara" brushwork to create organic, textured letterforms that feel alive and in motion.

Toronto (right)
Capturing the beautiful architecture of Queen Street West and the spirit of the trees so frequently chopped.
Sharp, detailed line-work that breaks down the word "Toronto" into its core architectural components, supporting the illustrative street line art.

Peace (left)
Evoking a sense of deep relaxation and harmony through a meditative, colorful lens.
Exploring typography as an intricate pattern using a vibrant rainbow gradient to create a seamless visual rhythm.

LA (middle)
Celebrating Los Angeles as the global capital for movies with a high-velocity, dynamic energy.
An animated GIF poster featuring a "frame-chasing" sequence that pushes the boundaries of moving letterforms.

Paris (right)
Treating letters as sculptural objects to honor the iconic fashion and elegance of Paris.
Reimagining the word as a stiletto shoe silhouette, layered with abstract storytelling through Morse code and playful accents.
