This project focused on designing and implementing a new suite signage system for the Jazz Burlington condo building in Burlington. I led the design to ensure the signs were highly readable, accessible, and aesthetically consistent with the building's brand identity and the recent, modern interior renovation by Nura Planning and Design.
The successful execution required collaboration with the interior designer and WorkRight Group (General Contractor) to meet both design standards and construction requirements, culminating in approval from the building board.
The core creative direction, which I established to guide the design, focused on delivering a look that was elegant, modern and clean. This vision included initial aspirations for warm metal-looking details and a substrate of glossy, black plexiglass.
To realize this elegant look while ensuring budget efficiency and high legibility, the design incorporated the established Jazz transitional serif typeface. The final product was executed in a striking, high-contrast monochromatic black and white palette. This strategic choice ensures the signs are visually agnostic and perfectly integrate into the condo’s modern common areas, maintaining a premium feel even after adapting materials away from a full metallic look.
